Plan ahead: unfortunately we can not process same-day requests for workers

You will receive a confirmation email a workday prior to your job request date. If we confirmed workers for you, it is your responsibility to inform the workers we had connected you with.

Please note, staff are working remotely- allow at least 24 hours for someone to confirm the request; requests must be submitted by 12 PM Friday for weekend requests; Requests made over the weekend will be processed the following Monday and workers won’t be available until Tuesday.

Day Laborers and Domestic Worker members are hard-working men and women in our communities dedicated to finding work to support their families. At Centro de los Trabajadores, we strive to ensure accessible and reliable service by preparing members with education, job skills training, and leadership development.

El Centro does not conduct background checks.

We will follow up with both employers and workers to determine job satisfaction and share feedback with both parties.

The rate for workers who are picked up is $18/hour, and the minimum rate for job site arrival is $20/hour.

Pricing for skilled jobs is negotiated between the worker and the employer.

Payment is to be provided directly after the job is completed in cash, in total, to each worker.

We ask employers to be as detailed as possible when describing the type of work.

El Centro is a non-profit and does not take any monetary cut from the transaction between workers and employers.

Once we connect employers with workers, it is their responsibility to arrive and complete the job's duties. It is the employer’s responsibility to supervise while workers are on site. We cannot guarantee anything. That being said, if something does come up on the job site, please contact the coordinator.

El Centro does not provide workers’ compensation. Therefore, if something were to happen on the job site, the employer would assume liability.

We prefer the employer to pick up the worker with the expectation that they are driven back to the exact location.

Only a few workers have their own transportation and others are able to use public transportation to arrive at a job, the hourly rate for a worker to meet you on the job site is $20/hour.
