Member Testimony
"When I found El Centro, I was living at the rescue mission. There is a lot of respect here, they gave me an opportunity. El Centro helps me in many ways. I don't want to be walking the street, I like to work, it makes me feel so much better about myself, I don't want to be doing things that aren't right. Without El Centro all these people would be out on the street."

El Centro is a membership organization for low-wage workers, day laborers and domestic workers. In addition to paying a $20 annual fee, members commit to uphold El Centro’s values and carry out its vision, promoting a culture of acceptance and support throughout the community. Membership is a requirement in order to participate in certain programs and receive benefits such as an ID and access to Worker Support Funds.
Moreover, El Centro is committed to developing the leadership potential of our immigrant workforce. We provide institutional support through collaborations with community partners to help members organize around their interests and make positive investments in their communities.
