From Hope to Independence: The Story of Carime

When Carime arrived in Colorado as a single mother of two children, she knew that building a new life in an unfamiliar country would not be easy. In search of opportunities to move forward, she joined the Workready program, where she learned about Centro de los Trabajadores and found a support network that would mark a turning point in her journey.

Through Centro de los Trabajadores, Carime participated in various trainings, including English, computer skills, labor rights, financial education, and she also earned a Culinary Certification through MSU Denver, strengthening her professional skills and preparing herself for new job opportunities.

Beyond technical training, Centro de los Trabajadores provided her with personalized guidance, ongoing support, and the confidence needed to adapt to a new culture and navigate the U.S. labor market. The team supported her in building her résumé, preparing for interviews, and connecting her with employment opportunities.

Thanks to her effort and dedication, Carime now works for a well-known company in the food industry, where she enjoys financial stability, growth opportunities, and a job that allows her to provide a better quality of life for her children.

“My life changed completely. Today I can offer my children a home, stability, and a better future. I am also able to support my family in Colombia.”

For Carime, Centro de los Trabajadores has been a fundamental guide in her process of integration and development. Her story demonstrates how training, support, and perseverance can transform challenges into opportunities and open the path toward a more stable and prosperous life.
